CHIEF EXECUTIVE KRIS GRANT MAKES A POINT… ‘WE ARE FEELING THE PINCH!’

Economically, it is a tough environment at the moment for all.

It is no different for the Central District Football Club, in fact, the Board of Directors are currently addressing budgets for 2014, and cost reductions are going to have to be made in many important areas INCLUDING THAT OF FOOTBALL.

All members and supporters must appreciate that our success is dependant on you people and your involvement.

It is my opinion that the Central District Football Club over recent years, given its great on-field success, has provided supporters with everything one could wish for in football terms.

This not only has been carefully planned, but has come at a financial cost.

Whilst this success did provide the Club with some financial benefits, I now feel that there is a sense of apathy and complacency from certain sections of our supporter base.

Why are home match attendances diminishing?

Why is our membership base relatively stagnant?

Why is Grand Central patronage dependant on the same few?

Why is it so hard for members and supporters to assist in areas such as raffle tickets?

If you are one who is involved in these areas, then my message is not directed at you.

But all must understand that the Club has recorded consolidated (Football Club – Footballers Club) losses for the past 2 years and 2013 is not going to be any different.

THIS JUST CANNOT CONTINUE!

The Board of Directors and Management cannot operate a successful Football Club on our own. Whilst we currently exist in a supposed more professional world, Clubs still rely on supporter / member support.

There is an attitude of ‘they have poker machines, they’re doing alright’. Please let me tell you that this is not the case.

The SANFL competition is about to enter a whole new phase, but I am hopeful that we can continue to be a major playmaker in the future.

We need your support now:-

Make an effort to attend our last home game next week versus Glenelg

Assist with selling a book of ‘Car Raffle Tickets’ or ‘SANFL Home Lottery’.

If you are not a member, join now!

Utilise the Grand Central facilities for a meal or quiet drink.

If you enjoy playing the pokies, play them at Grand Central.

Come and play Bingo – The largest in the northern area.

The Club has not put a call on members and supporters for an increase in their support for many a year, but improved effort from all can make a difference.

In some respects I am being critical, but I do not apologise. There is no greater feeling than winning premierships, a feeling that all supporters would have experienced and enjoyed.

I was involved in the Club when it was a financial battle to survive, and I do not want to go there again.

SUSTAINABILITY AND SUCCESS DEPENDS ON YOU!
