THREE DOGGIES IN SA STATE UNDER 20 SQUAD

THREE DOGGIES IN SA STATE UNDER 20 SQUAD
By Peter Argent
Three Central District reserves players named in an inaugural 34-man list for this year’s South Australian Under-20 game.
The trio are Nuriootpa rover Travis Schiller, Gawler Central small man Caleb Edmead and former Willaston Donnybrooks key position player/ruckman Cooper Stoll.
“Travis (Schiller) had produced two good halves in the opening two games and now needs to put a full game together,” coach Brown said.
“He is a first year under 20 and was involved in the state under 18s program last year.
“Caleb’s (Edmead) form against North was impressive and he has played three years of reserves football now.
“He first played at reserves level for me as a 16-year-old.
“Cooper Stoll showed plenty of attributes during the pre-season and now need to put them into a full game of reserves football.
“It is a great opportunity for the players selected in final team to show their wears on a higher stage.
“As there has been in previous season, recruiting staff from all 18 AFL clubs will be at the game or getting vision of it.
“I’m very excited about being in this SA state program this year.”
For Central District 2012 reserves premiership mentor and long time servant through the grades at the Ponderosa, Jeff Brown this is his first state appointment.
His SA Under 20 side will tackle the NEAFL Under-23 team from 11.15am at City Mazda Stadium on May 11.
This squad will train initially at Max Basheer Reserve on Sunday, April 28.
There will be two further trainings in the lead up to playing the curtain-raiser for the SANFL’s state match against the NEAFL at Richmond
