Stepping across seven decades, three generations of the Dolan Family have crafted fine Barossa Wines. Current Club Captain, Luke Habel, has recently married his long-term partner Sarah, the daughter of Chief Winemaker of Dolan Family Wines, and of course convinced his new Father-In-Law Nigel to get on board as a sponsor of the club!
As a new club sponsor in 2020, Dolan Family Wines (DFW) have generously donated a range of their premium Barossa wines to support the Club in an auction. Along with DFW, we have generous donations from Dolan & Dunn Wines, Peter Lehmann Wines and Saltram Wines.
In football terms, Nigel’s wine-making success is as impressive as that of a two-time Brownlow Medallist. He has won the most prestigious wine award in Australia, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy, in 1992 and 2003. His father, Bryan Dolan, was the first ever winner in 1962. In 2008, Nigel teamed up with the 2008 ‘Brownlow Medallist’ (Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy), Caroline Dunn, to create Dolan & Dunn Wines.
Nigel’s son, Tim, is also making his mark in the wine industry – winning the Dux Prize in the illustrious Len Evans Tutorial of 2018 – in football terms, the Norm Smith Medal. Tim is currently a head winemaker at Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa – who have also generously donated an exclusive Magnum signed by current Peter Lehmann winemakers Tim Dolan, Brooke Blair, Brett Smith and Nigel Westblade.
