People would be aware that the Australian Government has launched the smartphone app, COVIDSafe.
This app seeks to speed up the process of identifying people who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, quickly stopping further spread.
Clubs SA is currently consulting with Government on behalf of the Central District Football Club and Grand Central Tavern on the resumption of football and the reopening of SA’s licensed Clubs.
It is clear from our discussions that the downloading of the COVID-19 Tracking app will play a crucial role in giving Clubs the flexibility to open as it will go a long way to satisfying the health professionals that there will be the ability to effectively track and trace in the event of exposure.
From a Federal viewpoint, Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also flagged the app as being essential for Australia to be able to ease restrictions across the country, with a major announcement expected Friday.
Therefore the Central District Football Club and Grand Central Tavern urges all our members, supporters and customers to support and download the COVIDSafe App.
We also encourage you to share and promote the app amongst your friends and families and via your social media pages.
This is about Clubs being seen as safe and as controlled as possible. The more we can satisfy health professionals that our venues can operate safely, the more likely we will see restrictions eased.
Finally, it is important to highlight that this is a community announcement, not a political one.
