Dogs Day

It was the Dogs Day overcoming a fast starting West Adelaide to kick 14 consecutive goals and eventuate 70 point victors.

West Adelaide flew out of the gates kicking the first two goals of the game and had entire control of the contest with their quick hands, run and carry.

It took until the 20 minute mark of the first quarter for the young Dogs to kick a major when Brett Kennedy converted one of his three goals. Jordan Dorizzi got out the back of a contest minutes later to dribble home the Dogs second and see them lead at the first break 16 to 13.

After the quarter time break the Dogs couldn’t be stopped, kicking the next 12 goals of the match while keeping the Bloods goalless in the second and third period.

The Bulldogs defence was terrific all day repelling any West Adelaide attack especially through the aerial prowess of big men Wyatt Patterson & Rhett Montgomerie taking multiple contested marks.

The forward line looked likely all day with five multiple goal kickers, Brett Kennedy, Nicholas Lange, Jordan Dorizzi, Nicholas Gillard and birthday boy Tyson Richard amongst them.

The Dogs will take on Sturt this weekend for a chance to play in a Preliminary Final at Adelaide Oval.

Goalkickers: Kennedy, Lange 3, Dorizzi, Gillard, Richard 2, Dudley, Grubb 1.
