The Reserves headed to Peter Motely Oval to face Glenelg in the Elimination final. It was a flying start for the boys who kicked a goal within the first minute of the game going the way of Nicholas Lange. It was two goals from Jarrod Cotgrove and inaccurate kicking from the Tigers which gave the Doggies some early breathing space leading 3.1 to 0.4 at quarter time.
It was once again the immense tackling pressure of the Reserves side which made it very difficult for the opposition to score, going into the main break 35 points ahead.
The third quarter was a quarter of missed opportunity for both sides with 3.8 being kicked. It was the Tiger’s who won the quarter and gave themselves to have a crack in the last, trailing by 29 points.
Centrals 93 tackles and will to run for each other which was the telling factor in the final quarter. Keeping Glenelg goalless in the last to run out 50 point victors.
Goals: Lange 3, Cotgrove, Durdin 2, McKenzie, Rigney, J.Furnell, D. Robinson 1.
Best: Shaw, White, Rigney, Robinson, O’Brien, McKenzie.
